Identifying a Chosen Issue and Its Background

Riverbend Community Action is a Human Service Organization that issues services for individuals facing hardships and families situated in the mid-sized metropolis of Riverbend City. Human service organizations are public volunteer cooperation that has their imposed primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention of biosocial issues in various community sectors. Action research methods in human services are the systematic inquiry that researchers undertake as they draw their findings from other researchers to assist in establishing actions and determine the outcomes and consequences. In the Ruby Lake neighborhood in Riverbend City, there is a high rate of homeless teens; hence a task force was established to deal with the inclining levels of youth and teen homelessness. However, the organization is facing a series of issues with the organization’s leadership structure and the issue of diversity within the Riverbend community, mainly the subject of transgenderism. The primary purpose of this paper is to reflect on the Riverbend situation on assessing and selecting the task force leader, managing the structure of the team, and addressing various crises the team is facing.

The main issue facing Riverbend community action is leadership. A disabled management and leadership system is a significant issue affecting the programs as the leaders are unable to deal with diverse communities in the Riverbend neighborhood. Besides, lack of quality and robust leadership and management skills have made it hard for the human service members to participate and involve themselves in team works both inside and outside the organization. They still construct the organization’s name within the neighborhood of Riverbend City (Hockday, 2015).

Effective human services leaders must meet the diverse requirements of both the participants and the Human 3 Service Organization staff members. Besides, the human service leaders should work with teams both on the outside and inside the organization, all while consistently constructing the identification and characterization of the organization. The program leaders are unable to not only issue empowerment to the other employees and participants, but they are also unable to motivate and make a difference among the members and participants. Inadequate leadership skills among the human services members do not allow the members of the organization to strive for diligence, and neither are they able to meet expectations as they assist the Riverbend city in regaining its stability (Hockday, 2015). Both the leaders and the members lack the idea that having an established acknowledgment of oneself allows them to manage their behaviors, thus reduces their productivity, impact, and effectiveness. Human Services Organization social workers should master particular basic skills to ensure the organization’s goals and aims are successful and continue to achieve additional skills and work hard to refine the already subsiding skills (Hockday, 2015). Human services professionals should be accountable for tending to the requirements of transgender individuals in Riverbend City.
