LITERATURE REVIEW

Literature Sampling Approach Technique

Theoretical sampling will be employed in this investigation. Theoretical sampling may be characterized as “the process of data gathering for developing theory whereby the analyst collectively obtains, codes, and analyzes his data and selects what data to collect next and where to position them to build his theory as it emerges.”.

Critical Analysis of Literature

Main Point 1-characteristics such as social conduct, good self-esteem, and engagement with peers are adversely connected with a drug abuse propensity and acted as independent determinants of that tendency.

600 high school students in Isfahan, Iran, were surveyed for a cross-sectional research based on a questionnaire (Pozveh, & Saleh, 2020). The participants in the study were asked to complete a survey on their history of substance abuse.

Main Point 2: incidence of alcohol use disorder (AUD) and related elements amongst teenagers.

About 1800 youths were surveyed in a cross-sectional study. Studies have shown links between adolescent drinking and a variety of risk factors, such as smoking, parental divorce, increased internet usage, and bullying victimization (Hallit,et al., 2020).

Main point 3: socioeconomic and demographic factors that are most strongly associated to the intake of cigarettes, cannabis and alcohol are discussed.

Alcohol, cannabis, and cigarette use among teenagers aged 15 to 17 (n = 1660; 51% male) was surveyed. To find out why people drink and smoke, researchers used a weighted multivariable regression. According to the findings, 20% of individuals had used at least one drug, 7% had used two, and 3% had used all three at the same time. Tobacco and alcohol were the most often utilized drug pairings.

C. DISCUSSION

Main Themes Meanings and Finding

Adolescent drug and substance abuse is a global issue that exclusively the needs the attention of professsionals. Adolescent drug use is on the rise, presenting a serious risk to the parents and grandparents of today’s children and grandchildren. From smoking and drinking to stronger drugs like cocaine, marijuana and opium, young people throughout the world have experimented with a broad spectrum of substance. There has been a rise in the number of people abusing drugs over the last several years. About 250 million people between the ages of 15 and 50 have used illegal drugs in the whole world’s population, according to the World Drug Report. Teenagers who regularly use drugs out of control are more likely to suffer serious repercussions. Adolescents are the primary target of this study, which aims to uncover the underlying reasons of substance abuse.

Contribution to Field

It is the major purpose of this research to give useful information, support notions, and contribute to the progress of knowledge about drug and alcohol addictions. As a result of this research, evidence-based remedies to the underlying causes of drug addiction in teenagers may be developed and implemented more effectively. Effective methods of preventing drug addiction will be developed thanks to this study, reducing the likelihood of drug addiction in youngsters significantly.

Implications for Future Research

It is important that a research is conducted on the breakdown of cultural norms that are critical in shaping adolescent behavior. Drug addiction is influenced by the structure of a family’s home environment. This problem was brought on by both modernity and the rural-to-urban migration process. Increasing numbers of unemployed individuals are looking for other ways to make a living, which has led to an increase in the number of youths turning to drugs. Those without jobs are more prone to indulge in drug abuse and human trafficking than those who are working.

CONCLUSION

If the government doesn’t take aggressive action, drug misuse will continue to be a major issue until they do. As a result of their habitual drug abuse, teenagers are often forced to deal with serious repercussions. With an emphasis on teenage alcohol and drug abuse, the goal of this plan is to uncover the underlying roots of these problems.
