Your introduction should be typed here (it should only be one paragraph). In this ABA analysis activity students play the role of the CEO of Broadspan, a television network. The purpose of this assignment, based on the Using OB Methods to “Strike” a Deal” Simulation Results assignment you have already completed, is to analyze the team’s methods of communication and their effect on motivation, teamwork, and effective conflict management and resolution. You are strongly encouraged to review the simulation thoroughly while completing this assignment because it is based solely on your simulation team and your experience completing it.

The body of your paper should be 1600-1800 words (introduction through conclusion). The final sentence in your introduction will be a strong thesis statement that introduces the key topics that will be discussed in the essay. Here is an example: In the pages to follow, eight attributes of a highly effective team will be explored with particular focus on the stages of group formation, effective communication, conflict and conflict management, and the application of motivational theories. Evaluating Effective Team and Group Work

Use any four of the eight attributes of a highly effective team covered in Section 8.5 in “OB Chapter 8: Groups and Teams,” from the textbook, located in the Topic 5 Resources, to analyze whether the team in the simulation was effective. Use cited, paraphrased material from your academic research for support. Do not “stack” cited material. Always infuse your own ideas as well. Best practice: add the cited definitions as you address and apply each concept. Use the textbook for your main definitions so you are applying them correctly in the context of this course. Academic research includes the textbook, additional course materials, articles from the GCU library, or Google Scholar. Five Stages of Group Formation

Provide a review of the five stages of group formation. Cite the textbook with the material you use for support. This should include your own insight about these stages too.

In other words, in the textbook, read about the theories in each of these areas to find ones that align with what you experienced in the simulation, that would motivate the team. Make sure that each of these are clearly developed and justified, with examples and personal insights to further understanding. Strengthen and support your claims with cited, scholarly material.

Include scholarly evidence to strengthen your claims.

Process Theory

Suggest a specific Process Theory from the textbook that could be utilized to motivate a member of the team in the simulation. Reinforcement Theory

Suggest a specific Reinforcement Theory from the textbook that could be utilized to motivate a member of the team in the simulation. Conclusion

The conclusion is the last paragraph. Your conclusion is a brief 3-5 sentence recap of your introduction, with a restatement of your thesis. Be mindful of overall word count.
