Assessment 1: individual essay, 2500 words

The essay should focus on ONE of the ‘4As’ defined in weeks four and five*. It should:

1) Provide some context to explain the industry structure (e.g. influence of international bodies such at the UNWTO; national structures and relevant policy; relevant private sector influences such as vertical integration), and

2) Evaluate the demand for this sector in detail.

Students are asked not to discuss all four ‘As’ listed below* and to ensure they focus on only one. This will especially focus on learning outcomes 1 and 2.
