Assignment Brief September 2019
Purpose
of this assignment
This
assignment allows for the development of a personal portfolio and
reflective report that summarises your development through this year
leading to an employability pack for your placement or work-based
learning modules.
The
activities and tasks are designed to help you to understand your own
skillset and to identify the skills needed to successfully obtain
placements and subsequent careers.
The
module and assessment will utilise class Notebooks to create a
portfolio and overall reflective report detailing your progress this
year.
The
assessment brief has multiple hand in dates. Please check the
assignment hand in dates carefully.

Portfolio
Item A . Application Pack. Weighting 30%
You
are required to produce an application pack tailored to one of the 4
roles listed on Class Notebook, the application pack comprises of the
following items;
- Professional
CV including link to an updated LinkedIn Profile. - Cover
Letter - Application
form (provided on class notebook)
Please
utilise CV360 available on the UCLan careers website (Link on Class
notebook) to receive feedback on your CV prior to submission

Portfolio
Item B – Reflective Report. Weighting 30%. Word count 2000 words
Developed
through self-assessment tools, personal development plan and
placement applications.
You
are required to reflect on your personal development throughout this
academic year. You will complete base line assessments within the
first semester which will help you to identify areas for development,
these activities will form the Personal Development Plan (found on
class notebook) which will support your reflection.
Drawing
from the base line assessments, placement applications, application
pack feedback and practical assessment consider your areas of
self-development this academic year, detail how you have identified
and developed on these areas, providing evidence to support. Identify
areas for continued professional development.

Practical
Assessment – 40%
You will
undertake a competency-based video interview that mirror industry
requirements. A link will be provided to the video software. Student
will receive preparation for the interview throughout the module.

Date: Practical Assessments will be arranged for class time, Week
commencing 24th February 2020 and 2nd
March 2020. Your individual time will be confirmed in Semester 2
