Charge Nurse

Supervise 10 nurses including CNA staff members on a 20-bed unit as Relief Charge Nurse. Coordinate the flow of patient discharges, transfers, and admissions. Provide conflict resolution to escalating situations. Coached staff members on the hospital’s policies and procedures.

Emergencies

Respond to cardiac arrest and rapid response calls in the ICU and CCU units as well as other departments within the hospital. Collaborate with healthcare team to facilitate emergency procedures such as intubation, tracheostomy, thoracotomy, central line placement, defibrillation transcutaneous pacing, and synchronized cardioversion.

Routine Duties

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients on ventilators, various types of supplementary oxygen, Intra aortic balloon pump, dialysis, Gaymar machine, A-lines and Swan-Gans

Administrator and monitor patients’ multiple intravenous medications to maintain life support such as sedatives, vasoconstrictors, vasodilators, benzodiazepines, opioids, paralytics, insulin, blood thinners, and resuscitation fluids.

Frequently treat patients with the following diagnosis STEMI, Non-STEMI, COVID19, sepsis, acute respiratory failure, drug overdose, DKA, HHS, GI bleed, pneumonia, and patients requiring preparation and recovery from CABG and stent procedures.
