Think about your problem that you have chosen to research. Pose your problem in the form of a question and allow the question to guide you in finding answers as you search the database. It is important to use various keywords and phrases.

Purpose: Purpose is to summarize and evaluate. It should briefly communicate the work’s main point, but also discuss the background of the author or study, and the strengths/weaknesses of the work.

Task: Your task is to review 1 article for your research essay from the MDC Database. Write your chosen problem in the form of a question for the title.

What to include for each article: (100-150 words)

1. Citation

Be sure to use MLA 9th Ed.

2. Summary

Provide a short summary of the article’s findings that are relevant to your research problem.

3. Evaluation

Evaluate the effectiveness and credibility of your source.

There needs to be a mention of the authors’ background. Who are they? What are their credentials?

Consider: HOW does this article help you answer your (problem) question? Did you learn anything? Did the authors discover something new about the topic? Did they provide data or statistics?
