For this post you will first watch the powerful PBS documentary via the link below, Understanding the Opioid Epidemic combines stories of people and communities impacted by this epidemic along with information from experts and those at the frontlines of dealing with the epidemic. The program traces the history of how the nation got into this situation and provides possible solutions and directions for dealing with the crisis.
You will then provide a post to include a brief summary of the documentary and answer the following questions:
1. What are some of the problems that could affect a community that has been hit by the opioid epidemic?
2. What are the ways in which we can help minimize the negative effect that the opioid epidemic has caused in communities?
3. Using a reliable resource such as CDC, SAMHSA, state or local health department data, locate the opioid statistics in your local community. Share with us your findings and what you were surprised to discover. Are opioids a concern in your city or county? 
Be sure to reference in APA format.  Posts should be at least 200 words with peer posts (two are required) at least 50 words each.  Ensure your peer posts are reflective offering new insights learned or new items to consider. Enjoy this important and impactful documentary.
