Mills made a distinction between personal problems and public issues.  After Reading both The Sociological Imagination” and “Applying the Sociological Imagination,” write a six to seven paragraph essay applying  the sociological imagination to a situation in your own life.  How is this personal problem related to a social issue?  Be specific in making the connections.  Next, find an article from an online newspaper discussing a current social problem.  Briefly summarize the article.  How would a sociologist explain the issue as a personal problem and as a public issue?
