Hello Class,
The enthymeme that I choose is for quitting cigarettes. The ad has a photo of Marlboro cigarettes with crayons in the box instead of the actual cigarettes. It qoutes “Do you want them to take after everything you do?. Quit today. The implied premise is that children mimic some things that see. They could visualize your box of cigarettes as their crayons just white crayons. It could allow them to become curious and possibly start smoking at a younger age. I chose this example because I am a smoker and I see these advertisements a lot but I’ve never seen one about the effects it can have on a child when they are literally watching your every move.
