Advice to a patient with one-day hives 
I will let the patient know that there are different causes of hive other than allergy. Other causes include infection, excessive exposure to cold or heat, and tight clothes. Additionally, I will reassure him depending on the time that has elapsed after taking the antihistamine. First-generation H1 antihistamines like chlorphenamine have an onset of action of about 30 mins with a peak of 1-2 hours. Second-generation H1 antihistamines have an onset of action of 1-2 hours. Therefore, the onset of action will depend on the generation of the antihistamine taken. However, if symptoms persist, he will need to visit the nearest hospital for further attention. 
Seasonal allergies 
I would recommend for him to use Claritin, which is a second-generation H1 antihistamine. Second-generation H1 antihistamines do not cross the blood-brain barrier, which makes them less sedating. Benadryl is a first-generation H1 antihistamine that crosses the blood-brain barrier, thus causing sedation (Dykewicz et al., 2017). Taking Claritin will control the allergy and leave the gardener active in his workplace. Furthermore, Claritin is taken as an OD dosage.

The two vaccines most closely linked to Guillain-Barre Syndrome are tetanus and influenza vaccines. One can use other alternatives like warm water to alleviate symptoms, the application of petroleum jelly and painkillers to relieve symptoms. 
Assessment before penicillin administration 
Penicillin’s cause life-threatening allergic reaction. It is, therefore, important to ask patients if they are allergic to Penicillin, cephalosporins, renal or hepatic dysfunction.
