Denying the Antecedent and the Issue of the Spread of Corona Virus
Corona virus has become a global menace. The virus is said to have started in China, specifically, in Wuhan, Hubei province (Boseley n.p). China has severally been accused of trying to hide the menace in the first place, and that if the country had disclosed information earlier on, then it would not have spread as it has currently. Secondly, some countries failed to put in place appropriate intervention measures to curtail the virus, and currently, most countries are suffering because of their laxity. Lastly, the availability of a vaccine would have prevented new infections, but since there is no known vaccine for the virus, infections could spiral.
Denying the antecedent takes the logical form of:
If P, then Q.
Not P.
Therefore, not Q.

Workplace Scenarios In Relation To the Chosen Topic
- If China had disclosed information about Corona virus early enough, the virus would not have been so widespread. But China disclosed this information when it was too late. Therefore, the virus spread very fast
- If countries put in place appropriate intervention strategies, they would have curtailed the spread of the virus. However, many countries had a lot of laxity. Therefore, they did not prevent the spread of the virus
- If there was a vaccine for Corona virus, new infections would have been prevented. But there is no vaccine for the virus. Therefore, it is not possible to stop new infections
