The study sought to determine whether alcohol consumption had an influence on people’s recollection of events. In the study, participants were first subjected to a 13- minutes alcohol drinking session to various activities such as watching a movie, a slide presentation and reading a misinformed narrative. The participants had been made to believe that they actually consumed alcohol by being served in glasses submerged in alcohol and rimmed with vodka-soaked lime. After completing the activities, participants were subjected to 19-items forced-choice testing aimed at determining whether the slide presentation and narrative could impair their recollection of the movie (Asefi and Gerry, 2019). The test asked participants to rate their confidence to answer using a 1(no confidence) to 5 (very confident) scale. The independent variable was whether participants believed they had consumed alcohol while the dependent variable was their recollection of the events.
