Organizational Culture

The central focus of healthcare organizations is quality improvement and safety. In this regard, the organizational culture is considered as shared behavioral expectations and norms. The culture must be desirable and realistic to see the changes. During the quiz, I got an insight regarding my organizational culture. My organizational culture has a set of values that uphold and maintain the quality of services provided, and it is mandatory to practice them. Honesty and integrity are among the values that are upheld within my organization. During hiring, the values aid in the process. I believe that operating with values that uphold honest; an organization is bound to succeed. Moreover, I believe that maintaining a culture of brotherhood within the work premises is essential as it helps in workflow and effective execution of duties. I believe upholding friendship, and brotherhood is bound to succeed. This type of culture is bound to result in rapid changes within the sector.

A process that promotes an ongoing effort to improve products, services, and processes functionality is referred to as a continuous improvement process. The continuous improvement process has become vital in healthcare progression. The ability to strategize and implement a large-scale change in the healthcare sector is among the numerous benefits in the healthcare sector. In order to provide quality care on a regular basis in the healthcare sector, integrating the continuous improvement process is essential, considering that the healthcare sector is an ever-changing sector. There is a strong commitment from all the partners of the healthcare sector on the implementation of continuous quality improvement to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. Moreover, the change aims to enhance patient outcomes while reducing the health costs associated with the department. In this regard, the program launched in 2010, known as the process improvement leadership aimed at improving patient outcomes while also reducing the variation in care. The 2010 process improvement leadership focused on coming up with a quality consistent improvement system that would help the sector enhance the discharge of patients, reduce emergency rooms use, use care redesign to reduce the number of heart attack patients admitted, and improve patient exchange to other departments.

The system that organizations use in waste elimination and creation of an efficient flow in the production process is regarded as a lean system. The final step of the breakdown is defected; this final step involves the organization spending time correcting the mistakes done during the production of products.  

Organizations often try to reduce defect risks using the six sigma, a technique that enhances productivity through minimizing the risk of defects within the production line. The healthcare sector is not any different, and it could use the six-sigma technique. The technique would prove effective in the healthcare department by reducing defects that cause medical errors. Errors in healthcare departments are very risky, and they lead to the deaths of many people. Moreover, errors in the health sector is a worldwide challenge that needs to be sorted. The overall functionality within the health sector would enhance quality improvement; this improvement can be facilitated by the six sigma principles. The changes that this incorporation would do is significant as it would prevent falls, shorten the wait times in both general and private hospitals.
