The coverage policies have a latent but do not have to constantly bring an impact on utilization as intended by policymakers and as they expect. The health care policy that I used most in the settings of a health facility is Medicaid/Medicare. Medicaid is a federal-state insurance program that is jointly funded meant for low-income people or the needy, but it still applies to all people. There was a more rigorous evaluation of (SAVR) after the introduction of Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) (Passeri, 2016). The costs for SAVR is relatively high thus need for coverage via Medicare which is coordinated through coverage with evidence development (CED). The cost per procedure has been averaged to be $78,000 for each life saved (Thourani et al., 2016)

A patient who has been examining and deemed to have severe aortic stenosis that seems inoperable they also undergo examination by other surgeons so that he or she can proceed to an open AVR. That serious examination must be carried out to ensure the patient must undergo the operation which is highly risky to avoid putting the patient at a death risk. The united states FDA has also played an important role in recommending for TAVR in consideration to the lie of the patient since it is responsible for the security of human and ensuring their safety. In addition, consideration for patients who are only at a high risk for TAVR is important to avoid putting people at a high risk of death, although I also feel that everyone who requires replacement of the aortic valve should be considered for the open operation to prevent worsening of the disease (Gaasch, Brecker, Aldea, 2016). However considering the cost of treatment using TAVR is quite expensive but on consideration of the human life, it is necessary to have the operation and deal with the cost later but the patent should have registered with Medicare to avoid the treatment costs burden.
