You’re the Researcher
write your annotated bibliography based on the evidence-based nursing research article you found to support your PICO(T) question. Please refer to the annotated bibliography assignment rubric. Preview the document Setting up your annotated bibliography in an organized way makes it much easier to the reader, but most important when it comes time to plug the information into the template for your EBP poster. Write your PICOT question at the top of your bibliography. Write the title of the article you are examining below your PICOT question. When uploading your article, include the title of the article you are assessing that week “Annot Bib Article” and the comparison article “Compar Article”. Do not just re-write the abstract of the article, but instead write the bibliography – I will know. Please make sure that you are answering every question for each section in depth and not just a brief answer. I should be able to read your annotated bibliography and have a complete understanding of the study. Use headers for each section. Use bullets. Include the following sections: States why the topic was chosen and how it relates to nursing Why did you choose this article? Evaluate the authority of the author Why were the authors qualified to conduct this study? Area of expertise/focus? Degree? Research Design and Method What kind of study was it? Number of participants? How were the chosen? What was included in the study? What was the inclusion/exclusion criteria? What data were collected? How was it collected? How was it analyzed? Comment on the intended audience Who is the audience? Please do not write, “healthcare professionals”, but instead think of each party who the results could impact. Compare and contrast with another article How does this study compare to others? When looking at the comparison of other articles, you should be reading other articles in order to find the one you chose as the annotated bibliography. What is the literature saying out there? Explain how this work increases the body of nursing knowledge and promotes evidence based-practice What are the results (i.e., actual results with numbers/percents)? Were they significant? Limitations to the study?
