teenage smoking among members of the community
There have been rising cases of teenage smoking among members of my community. The cases have been increasing significantly, particularly among high school teens. The research question to address the problem is: would pharmacological interventions and counseling be an appropriate method to promote smoking cessation among teenagers?
The most appropriate study design for the problem would be the case-control study. This would involve the identification of a group of interest, the teenagers. After identification, the researchers would interview the teenagers on the matters of smoking or review their records and ascertain the different experiences they have had while smoking.
The study involved actively taking a stance against teenage smoking by participating in social and school smoking prevention programs. It also consists in interviewing the youths and teenagers who have been found smoking cigarettes or marijuana and raising awareness against such acts. The study also involves supporting efforts that are advocating public places as smoking-free and also increasing taxes on tobacco produces. The study will also include parents of both smoking and non-smoking teens who will be required to give their children insight against the dangers of smoking marijuana and tobacco products.
