I. Description of topic of interest (1-3 slides)A. What are the main and distinguishing features of this topic? (Identify and define the specific topic and concepts of interest)B. Why is this topic important or timely? Why have you chosen to write about it?II. Summary of existing research (3-5 slides)This section should summarize a small, representative sampling of recent research about your topic. Be sure to organize and structure this discussion around shared goals, relationships, hypotheses, etc. Your paper should not be a series of ‘mini-book reports’ in which you discuss a series of articles one after another. Rather, you should focus on similarities (common findings) and/or differences (conflicting findings) across the different studies. If you find your topic is getting too complicated (aka, your paper is getting too long), you will need to narrow its focus and scope.
