Clinical Practice Experience (CPE) Project, Part 1 (begin week one, due week two):

The major project for this course will be to prepare a proposal for a technological device or a computer software system to improve quality and/or safety of client care or nursing care delivery in a practice setting. The student should do literature search for a technological product or system then interview a healthcare professional to identify a device or system of interest and one that would benefit clients or nursing in a clinical setting. The device/system should be very specific

Part 1 of the CPE project will include:

• Following the interview with a healthcare professional, list the tool or device of interest, one that would benefit clients or nurses in a clinical setting
• Conduct a database search using sources in LIRN and/or Google Scholar for articles and references on the selected topic. Identify search terms and the number of results obtained for the item in each search tool.
• Construct an annotated bibliography of five articles or studies on this tool/device
• Submit an academic paper, with a minimum of four pages of content (not including title page).
