SSC 101 Week 8 Discussion: Plagiarism
Part 1: Find and post an article or video on the topic of plagiarism. This part should be, at least, one full paragraph long and include a link to your source. A full paragraph is at least five sentences long. Include the following:
- Briefly explain what the resource is about, i.e., what it is saying about plagiarism.
- Explain what, specifically, you find interesting about the source’s discussion and explain also why or why not you trust the information from this source.
*** The source you choose can be anything that relates to plagiarism! For example, you could choose an article or video that reports on a scenario where someone plagiarized. Or you could choose an instructional video or article on plagiarism. Just make sure you choose something you find interesting and can relate to plagiarism!
Part 2: You are not only information consumers, but also information creators. Reflect on how you would like information you create to be used by others. Write, at least, one paragraph.
- Imagine you are sharing information you created online, for example an image, and need to choose a creative commons license to assign to your work. Which creative commons license would you use? Review the About the Licenses (Links to an external site.) page (license descriptions at bottom) to help you make your decision. For more information review License Conditions (Links to an external site.). Example: Attribution-NoDerivs CC BY-ND
- Describe why you choose your CC license above the other options.
