PROJECT OVERVIEW

develop an air monitoring program for VOC and SO2 for a new oil refinery industry that will start production in the New Year 2020. Please prepare a report and presentation highlighting your prospective air monitoring program.

The program should be like a monitoring proposal

Report should include:

o Background/ Introduction

Industry introduction, major emitting sources and contaminants, proximity to receptors, natural environment, and background air quality data, etc.

o Purpose (why)

o What and how you will monitor

o Where you will monitor

Refer to placement on map

o Discussion

Monitor placement justification with meteorological data, location of receptors, emitting sources

Averaging times, length of program, resources required, pertinent regulations, anticipated changes in air quality with regards to background air quality data, etc.

o Map

Showing proposed monitor locations

METEOROLOGICAL DATA

Include monthly precipitation, temperature, and wind direction data from previous year (or….at least 2017).

Draw conclusions based on your knowledge of prevailing wind directions, precipitation, and temperatures in your city to predict ambient concentrations of pollutants at the site.
