All the Queen’s Horses is a documentary regarding a case of embezzlement in the City of Dixon, IL.

The documentary was produced by a professor of Accounting at DePaul University in Chicago, IL.

To complete this case, you will need to watch the documentary and answer the questions that follow.

Your write up will be a maximum of two to three pages and can be submitted in Assignments in D2L. I expect you to work on this assignment on your own and the questions answered in your own words.

The documentary can be found several places. I did a search for the movie title and found it several places. It was on Netflix, but they do not carry it any longer. It is available on Amazon Prime if you are a member. There are other streaming services that carry the documentary.

You may need to pay $3.99 to rent it if you can’t find it free. Let me know if you have an issue finding the documentary.

Questions to be answered:

1. How was the crime detected? Who detected the crime?

2. Explain the crime that Rita committed.

3. Explain in detail at least three red flags present during the time Rita was committing the crime.

4. What did Rita do that was unusual for most individuals involved in an embezzlement scheme?

5. What characteristics of the fraud triangle do you see in this case?

6. Discuss the role the auditors played in this case. Did you find anything unusual about the firm’s involvement with the city of Dixon’s accounting system/records?
