Choose one of the digital beings built by your company. Define the objectives of their creation, their consumer or business appeal and reflect on what it means for the future of virtual humans, the good and the bad. (2 pages)

Now that you know your company well, time to dive deep into one of their beings. The goal of this is to have you understand what it is like on a daily basis to work within your company. It is almost as if you are the employee placed in charge of that particular being by your company.
The following are the kinds of questions I’d like you to consider while writing. You’ll likely find the answers to the questions by looking across multiple trade articles/videos/posts —
Overview:
Which digital being did you choose?
What do they represent? You could consider their archetype.
If consumer facing:
What platform/s are they on?
What kind of following do they have?
What kind of content do they like to post?
Why do fans respond to the being?
If enterprise focused:
What kind of roles does the being play?
Why has the being been successful for companies?
Has there been any research as to its value that can be shared?
History:
What was the inspiration for its creation?
Was there a tipping point for awareness/fandom/etc?
Has the role of the being changed over time?
Current Value:
What makes your being so differentiated from other beings?
Have they done anything recently that is newsworthy or innovative? How does that reflect on the goals for the being?
For consumer:
Are they associated/friends with other beings? Is that good/bad? Why?
Has your being made any very successful business partnerships (e.g., with a fashion brand, for an enterprise customer)? What are/were they are? Were they successful or not? Why?
For enterprise:
How does the being interact with other employees? Is that good/bad? Why?
Are there any case studies with the details of success that are relevant?
Current Issues:
Are there any concerns now about your being – or a competitor of theirs?
Do you think there should be? Why? And how could they be avoided?
Future Plans:
What’s next for your being?
What’s been announced?
What do you think might also be on the horizon?
What does your being represent within the larger future trend of virtual beings?
How is it a good or bad example – or some of both?
Do you think your being will ever be phased out of existence? Why or why not?
You also could hint to the room for another being to be created by your company and what it could accomplish (e.g., a tease for your final paper)
Remember that I’d rather have a better written paper that answers many of these questions than a terribly written paper that answers all of them. Again, stay away from “I” or “me” statements and superlatives about the impacts of the technology, but I want your perspective not your company’s or a trade magazine’s or an industry pundit’s.
