Assignment ContentTraining Development Paper: Each of you will be required to complete a 2-page paper that is focused on training development. You will pick a topic that you believe to be a training deficiency in an organization that you are or have been a member. I will not release any information to any organization, so you can be honest in your evaluations. The paper will consist of 4 distinct sections.

Needs assessment (Chapter 3) – the process that determines/determined that training is/was necessary
Learning and Transfer of Training (Chapter 4) – creating the appropriate environment that will enable the “trainees” to learn, grow, and use the acquired skill/knowledge
Program Design (Chapter 5) – development of a training course and training site – this should be the most important part of your paper
Training Evaluation (Chapter 6) – evaluation or metric that will determine the effectiveness of the training and help with any necessary revisions for future training
You will present your analysis in a very concise 2-page paper. Because the paper will contain a significant amount of information, I suggest that you write a 3-4 page paper first, then condense it down to at least no more than 2 pages. Your paper will be uploaded to Dropbox on Blackboard by Sunday at 11:59 pm on the week due. Papers will be graded on content, clarity, and grammar. I recommend using Grammarly (because I will) software or something similar to check your grammar and spelling before turn-in. I expect a professional paper, avoid colloquial writing. This should be along the lines of a paper you would be submitting to a senior leader in your organization. Put your name and title of your paper in the HEADER, use 12 font and 1-inch margins. Late papers will be penalized 20 points per day. All work presented MUST be your own. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Review the originality report, if it is more than 30% similar content, rework it. If you have any questions or issues with the Training paper, I recommend communicating with me early on to avoid or mitigate problems that could compromise your grade.
