Clarification

1) Question about the total pages of this assignment. 

The paper will be a  5-page, double-spaced,  in Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, excluding the title page, reference page, and the table of the 3-year milestone disaggregated data by gender, race, SWD, ELL, and SES.  Do not exceed 5 pages. 

2) Question: How detailed will the 3-year “School improvement plan table” be? 

Briefly describe the smart goals for math and the action plan for that smart goal. You can use a single space in this table. The table should not be over a page. 

3) Question:  I teach in K-2. My Introduction section will not align with Section II: Curriculum Aduit. Is that correct?

That is correct. In the introduction section, you will describe your school,  grade, and the content you teach. Describe your classroom and student population. Describe the teaching model (co-taught or not). Use your real school name. (Davis Elementary) We will keep the confidentiality of the assignment. 

Section II: Curriculum Audit–You will answer the questions 1, 2, 3, and 4. You can leave the disaggregation table (question 2) at the end (right before the reference page) to better know how many pages you write. 

For question 1, look at the SIP and briefly describe the smart goal(s) and action step(s) towards the goal for the 3-consecutive years (for example, grades 3, 4, and 5). 

For question 2, you will pick a grade level with 3-consecutive years of math data by gender, race, SWD, ELL, and SES. For example, grade 3, 4, and 5. 

For question 3, you will examine the math curriculum from the grade level you select (for example, grades 3, 4, and 5) to see if the curriculum is vertically and horizontally aligned within the subject and across the subjects. 

For question 4, answer either a or b prompt. 

**Please read and follow the question prompts from the directions in the syllabus. 

4. Question: How long should each section be?

My length recommendation for each section is as follows:

Section 1(introduction): 1 page

Section 2(Curriculum audit): 1.5-2 pages (including the SIP table)

Section 3 (Next steps):  1-1.5  pages (must include the textbook in-text citation and 3 other current journal article in-text citations) 

Section 4 (Conclusion): half page. 

Attach the disaggregation table right after the conclusion section. The 3-year data table could be 3 pages.  

Reminder: Reference page (must include at least 4 references including the textbook).
