In Chapter 41: Intellectual Property, we learned about infringement of copyrights, trademarks, and patents.
Examples of intellectual property infringement come up all of the time in the news, usually in relation to copyrights and trademarks. Often someone is accused of sampling too much of someone else’s song (copyright infringement), or someone is accused of using a name that’s too similar (trademark infringement). Find an example of infringement that you find interesting and tell us about it, including why you think the accused is or isn’t an infringer. Try to use what we’ve learned in your analysis as much as possible. It’s probably easiest to find an example in the news, but if you have any experience with infringement, then certainly feel free to share it.
