Nobel Prize-winning physicist, Richard Feynman, was a member of the presidential commission charged with looking into the 1986 Challenger shuttle explosion in which seven astronauts, including Teacher in Space" Christa McAuliffe, lost their lives. Feynman, a very popular Cal Tech physics professor at the time, describes his experience as a member of the commission as they met to write their final recommendations:
