ECO3039 Assignment 2 Instructions

The second assignment is on Thursday the 25th of November in the Computer Lab (MBC/TR1). This will be during your tutorial hour (9-11am). You will have 75 minutes to solve it. If you are eligible for extra time you will get an additional 15 minutes or 35 minutes depending on whether you are eligible for 25% or 50% extra time. A penalty of 1 mark for each minute – up to ten minutes- will be applied if you submit later. After ten minutes I will not accept the submission.

The assignment consists of simple commands to run and a short interpretation of the output related to these commands (same as in tutorials) and will only include commands which we have covered during tutorials or lectures. NOTE that there is no mark for running the command itself. The mark will depend on your answer to the question.

The assignment is to be taken under exam conditions and you cannot use notes from practicing with the dataset during the week. You need to leave all your belongings in front of the room.

On Canvas I have generated the assignment. You will need to upload 3 files.

A doc file (word) in which you report answers to questions.

The log file – which you need to open when you open STATA (log using namefile.log, replace) and close it at the end (log close)

The do file you used to run commands.

If you fail to upload both, the do file and the log file you get 0.

Make sure that all files have been uploaded before leaving because I will not accept late submissions.

Please let me know if you have questions. If you have questions related to the assignment, please use the Discussion Forum titled Assignment on Canvas to make sure that everybody has access to the same kind of information.

Please print out a copy of the problem set and bring it with you. This is the only document you are allowed to have on the desk.

REMEMBER THAT YOU GET A MARK OF ZERO IF YOU FAIL TO UPLOAD THE DO/LOG FILE. OF COURSE, YOU ALSO GET 0 IF YOU FAIL TO UPLOAD THE WORD FILE

Good luck to everybody
