For the final project, you will have the opportunity to expand on one of your previously written essays. You can select any essay that has already been submitted and graded. This means that you can select essays 1-2. Once you select the essay, start by reviewing the feedback you received and your own notes. The goal for this assignment is to improve your paper. For some of us that means developing ideas that were left lingering. For others, it might mean supporting your claims through research, quotes from the readings, or offering counterarguments. In either case, you must provide more support for your ideas. So, ideally, if your original paper was a 3-page essay, your revision will more than likely end up being a 5-page paper.
As you go through your paper and make additions, I recommend highlighting areas that you improved. This way you can begin to track your revision process. And, this technique also gives you an idea of what to write on your cover memo.
Revise one of your papers that you have worked on this semester
Provide additional research, quotes, support for your ideas, or counterarguments
Highlight areas of improvement
Write a cover memo
Note: Please submit your Cover Letter and your Revised Essay by Thursday, July 22. Submit your project in one file/document. Remember, highlight areas that you have added, edited, revised. You don’t have to submit your old work because it is already on Canvas.
