Free Hugs

A warm hug is no doubt a positive gesture of love and whether requested or not, it can bring a smile and change ones mood throughout the day. The verbal and non-verbal message portrayed a state of selflessness showing the type of humanity that should prevail not just in the region but everywhere in the world. The raised placard showed true intensions of kindness to everyone and the incredible response thereafter showed a true sign of humanity.

            Everyone has a moment in life where things go dark and pull them down sometimes and all they need is that one specially moment and not necessarily long but even the shortest moment to smile through it all and it can be from a simple hug. Despite the ‘Free Hugs’ looking not so catchy at first, the impact caused brought its understanding to a whole new level seeing everyone who got a hug walking away smiling and not one frowned.

            One might think it is for fun but from the experience of one Juan Mann the man behind it all, giving free hugs has a great impact on people and has since influenced a lot of individuals not only throughout America but even the world (Corbin). His experience of rejection and depression changed his whole life and prompted him to positively change the lives of others too.

            We have all had our share of poor communication and one instance is reflected where I verbally lashed out to an innocent advance of an individual seeking directions due to insecurity and later on blankly looked and walked away from my friend after an argument which expressed lack of positive communication.

            All this could and have changed as lessons were taken from experience and what I had viewed showing that if only one can simply understand the situation first without acting negatively, and then humanity would easily be restored or will prevail. Some of the ways could include trying to figure out the root or cause of an issue before judging or acting out and another trying to settle things calmly and in an understandable manner
