Hello class,

The topic will be recruitment.

Recruitment is a crucial function within HR, not just about attracting and hiring new employees but about integrating them into the organization’s fabric. They are the backbone of our success, as they identify the need for new positions and determine the requirements and responsibilities for each role. By advertising job openings on various channels such as job boards, social media, and career fairs, we source and select the right candidate, shaping the future of our organization.

However, suppose a company’s selection process involves a recruiter sifting through a pile of CVs and mentally comparing these against a job spec (that might not even be formally defined in a document) to compile a shortlist. In that case, the employer could be opening the door to the claims Pollitt. (2007). Recruitment. Emerald Group Press. (pg .4)
