Hello Time Travelers:

For this forum you are to act as a time traveler and report back on the things that you have experienced through your travels so far. Choose an event from the places and periods we have discussed in weeks three and four. As a time traveler your job is to observe but not interfere and not pass judgement on the civilization you are exploring. Your purpose will be to provide a first hand account of the event to report back to the present. Your report must be accurate and it must be well researched.

Choose two credible sources other than your textbook to provide you with information. If you use websites as sources e very careful of the types of websites you choose and make sure the information is credible. You may not use encyclopedias or other tertiary sources as sources. See “Source Requirements and Restrictions” module under Content.

Your report must be accurate and provide detail and specifics. The initial post must be 250 words and it must include citations for all information that is used from your research sources. This is a required part of all research writing. The initial post will be due by Sunday at 11:55 PM Eastern. You will also be responsible for asking a minimum of three well thought out questions of your fellow time travelers (one question to three different students). These questions and answers will be due by Sunday Week 5 at 11:55 PM Eastern.

Also, throughout the following week you will be responsible for answering a minimum of two questions about your observation that are asked by your fellow students. Your answers will be a part of your final grade.

Each Travel Log Forum is graded on a 100 point scale:

Travel Log Essay (50 points). Two sources, citation and a separate bibliography required. Deadline for Travel Log is end of Week 4.

Asking three different students a well-thought question (10 points each or 30 points). Please include an observation about the Travel Log before asking your question. Deadline for posting your three questions to fellow students is Wednesday 11:55 PM Eastern Time of Week 5. Because the success of your fellow students is dependent on your participation, late student questions will receive no credit.

Responding to a minimum of two student questions under your Travel Log post ( 10 points each or 20 points). Always restate verbatim the question you are answering before your response. Deadline for two student responses is end of Week 5. Special Notice: If possible, please post your three questions to your three fellow students in a particular order. If you’re the first posting of the week, please post your questions to the three students who post their travel logs after you. Otherwise, please post to the student posting above and below your travel log, and one other of your choice. This way, your fellow students should receive the three questions needed to fulfill the assignment by the Wednesday of the second week deadline.
