How does it work? Is it effective? How does the historical context relate? What was the purpose of his argument? Consider the author’s authority/ credentials – do these assist or detract from the viability of the argument?

Within this section identify the components of the argument (ethos, pathos, logos…) and how those work within the piece. Acknowledge counter arguments or other views.
The conclusion should reiterate how effective you find the piece overall at persuading, keep in mind for analysis it isn’t really about agreeing or disagreeing with the author’s point but more so about appreciating or finding fault with how the argument itself is constructed.
