have this can you add onto it? Did you know that the koala population
is decreasing by the days? The koalas are one of the most interesting
animals on earth (in my opinion). The things that I will be disusing in
this paper is the current genetic diversity of koalas, the number of
koalas left on earth in the wild, why they are losing their habitat and
what koalas must adapt in the environment.
Koalas have been an interesting animal to me because of what they do. The things that they do are sit in trees and eat leaves.
will this genetic diversity affect their long-term survival for the
koalas? Well, it will have a habitat loss in the European settlement.
the reason for that is because a dangerous disease is in the world that
koalas can get, and it can very strictly affect the producing by so
less. How has the geographic range of koalas changed over time? Its by
clearing and fragmentation of eucalypt woodlands and forests” https://environment.des.qld.gov.au/wildlife/animals/living-with/koalas/facts on the habitat and distribution on the second paragraph.
live in Australia. The reason for that is because it is the perfect
habitat to live in. They have adapted over time in their habitat in
order to survive in the region.
do koalas need to survive (food, shelter, etc.)? they rely on the
eucalyptus tree because they give them their nutrients and their food to
survive What adaptations do koalas have? The adaptions that they have
are “lean with long, muscular front and hind limbs and large, sharp
claws” https://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/cracking-the-koala-code-koala-fact-sheet/7681/ on the third paragraph. How do koalas reproduce? “Fertilization of sperm and egg” http://bioweb.uwlax.edu/bio210/s2013/hermes_emma/reproduction.htm.
How often do koalas mate, and how many offspring do they produce? It is “one offspring each year” https://www.savethekoala.com/about-koalas/life-cycle-koala/#:~:text=Females generally start breeding at,as age and habitat quality.
On the second paragraph How do the reproductive habits of koalas affect
their genetic diversity? It is “inbreeding due to a decrease in
population size” I found it on the first slide https://prezi.com/y1de8wcvxdth/genetic-diversity-of-koalas/. What factors should scientists consider when creating a plan to conserve the species? “Keep native vegetation on your block” https://www.savethekoala.com/about-koalas/living-koalas-how-can-you-help-protect-them/ on the very first sentence of paragraph one.
conclusion koalas are endangered and about to go extinct and we are not
doing anything to help them. They have are endangered because of the
big fires in Australia and Europe. They eat from the eucalyptus tree.
Lastly koalas deserve to be saved from extinction.
