Social work leaders will engage in various forms of communication. Video presentations is a common form of communication used to raise awareness, impact attitudes, and/or disseminating knowledge/research on social issues.   

Learners will craft a 3-6 minute video presentation focused on product three of our Capstone Project-The Practice Application Paper. The overarching goal is to raise awareness of your identified social issue, explain your developed intervention, how it’s   overt connection to practice and the role of social work practitioners play in responding to the need, as well as gaining practice and skills for future career opportunities (conferences, presentations, etc.)

The Practice Application Video Presentation should address the following:

Articulate a social work clinical practice problem/issue.

Background of the problem/issue

Rationale for focus

Provide an overview/synthesis of the literature—grounded in current and clinical research.

What is known about the problem/issue?

What has been done to address the problem/issue?

What areas still need to be examined/gaps?

Describe your clinical based intervention.

Describe the implementation of your intervention—What did/will you do? What barriers, surprises, and insights did/will you encounter?

Discuss applications and implications of your clinical intervention-

How does your intervention address the gaps you identified?

How does your intervention improve the problem/issue?

What are considerations for others who want to adopt/build on your intervention?

What additional questions does your clinical based intervention exploration generate for further study?

Learners are encouraged to share their final presentation via social media (i.e., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).  If you share your presentation via Twitter, please tag @LauraE_R, @DrJayMiller1, @UKCOSW, #DSW.

NOTE:  This presentation should be maximum 3-6 minutes. Scholarly resources are required. Your video presentation should address all the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept of knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented.
