International Criminal Law

You will write a final 12-15 page research paper, relating arguments from the theoretical readings in class with a specific empirical international legal document (or series of related documents). This could include a specific treaty, customary law, or international law case (within either an international or regional court, or a domestic court applying international law). This international legal document can not have been discussed in the extensively in class. This paper will be due at the end of the class. This paper requires some research, but a fair amount of analysis. You are required to submit a 1-2 page topic outline.

If you are stuck on paper topics, you are welcome to explore some of the International Criminal Justice institutions we don’t cover extensively in class: the Special Court for Sierra Leone, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, and the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. You already chose the topic and wrote the two page outline, I will attach it below, as well at the rubric. I will also attach the textbook. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please have a good amount of references.
