Medical Terminology project

Directions:
Students are to submit a word document or google slides or medical topic they find of interest. If submitting a paper please write a summary of a health topic you would like to share. If submitting a PowerPoint slide, the same instruction applies.
The topic can be something you have read about or something that has impacted your life. Sometimes students will share conditions they are familiar with due to their family, or personal experience, which does not have be identified in your paper or PowerPoint unless you chose to share that. The point is to pick a topic you find interesting or that you are passionate about related to the course which is Medical Terminology. You are also welcome to just pick topic of interest to write about.
What needs to be submitted:
Write a 300 word paper or a 15 slide (minimum) PowerPoint presentation. Use APA formatting with a minimum of three (3) creditable references for either deliver method.
What is a creditable reference?
A source of information that has been published by an author has a date and can be reviewed by peers that cannot be edited by the public. Generally this is a written article from a magazine, a paper that has been published or a book such as your textbook.

NOTE: Do not use Wikipedia or sites similar to that as they are not creditable resources.
Do not copy “word for word” for any information. If you “borrow’ information form a source, give it credit by listing it as reference and show where you used it by adding intext citations to your paper or your slides. Any information that is borrowed without a citations noted is considered plagiarism and will result in a deduction from the final grade. When in doubt, list the source (book, article, paper or website as a reference. This project will be submitted through an plagiarism checker so please submit only original work.
Your final paper or PowerPoint project should have the following:
A cover page-both papers and PowerPoint presentations
Page numbers-both papers and PowerPoint presentations
A reference page with references in APA format (alphabetical by author)-both papers and PowerPoint presentations
Papers should be a minimum of 300 words (not including the cover page and the reference page)Double spaced and include intext citations in APA format. Every source listed as reference should have an intext citations showing me were you used the material in your paper, ideally in your own words.

PowerPoint presentations hold be a minimum of 15 slidesIntroduction slides, summary of presentation slide and reference pages with APA intext citations on the slides and on the reference page at the end.

The paper should address the following items ( in any order):
Define the topic (what, when how or where).
What is it?
How does it happen?
Is there a specific population it impact?
Is there a cure?
What is the typical treatment?
How long does it last?
How many people does it impact?
How long has it been a known disease or illness?
Why did you pick this topic?
Any new or recent developments with the disease or illness you have found?
