This MEMO is a rhetorical analysis of a document from the Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services. The document provides a roadmap to be utilized in battling the opioid crisis. The document will be analyzed, and its efficacy will be determined using Markel’s measures of excellence.

To a large extent, the document meets Markel’s measures of excellence. It has been written simply with smaller sections to making easier to read. References have been given, signifying honesty in the document. Expressive illustrations have been included in the document to give it a professional appearance.

Professional Appearance and Accessibility

The page features several illustrations, including a syringe, people, and drug symbols. These illustrations are essential to this page as they emphasize the page’s message. The fond used also makes it easy to read without straining. The document has also been organized into several navigable sections, making reading easier.

Clarity and Conciseness

The document has been written with a lot of clarity that the audience outside the healthcare field can understand. Abbreviations are parenthesized after stating the long form of the phrase to avoid confusing those outside the health sector. Each section is relatively short, allowing it to be read by a busy reader.

Honesty and Accuracy

At the end of the documents, the sources used in creating them have been provided, which signifies honesty. The document is also based on facts as it gives accurate data from the research conducted by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, one of the key players in healthcare services.

Comprehensiveness and Correctness

The documents cover the key areas needed in dealing with the opioid epidemic: prevention, treatment, and data. It adheres to grammar conventions, as there are no spelling or punctuation mistakes.

This document adhered to all the eight measures of excellence, thus making it effective in passing the message to its audience. The fonts and illustrations give the page a professional look and make reading easier. Though easy to read, I would have wished the page to have a summary of its content.
