Brainstorm some ideas for a subject related to strategic leadership on which you might want to do your project. Share those ideas with your classmates.
For this term’s applied project, I have been thinking of completing an onboarding program for newly promoted supervisors or new supervisors joining the organization or a certification in strategic leadership or coaching. I have been researching online certifications that I could complete online in a few months. Also, my director has tasked me with creating a structure and program to improve the supervisor onboarding and coaching experience strategically. In recent months, the organization has grown tremendously. The organization has added sixty-five licensed agent positions to the organization, which has prompted the organization to hire six coaching supervisors. Organizational growth, high absenteeism, and attrition have also resulted in a lack of personnel, affecting performance, engagement, and productivity targets. Therefore, my organization has determined that a strategic and structured onboarding program for new supervisors in all departments is needed to ensure that new leaders are able to meet the business requirements and ensure that new leaders are prepared to meet the organization’s performance and employee needs. Along with my Operations team, I will be responsible for creating an onboarding program that meets my organization’s customer and partner growth.
Many organizations similar in size and the same industry have implemented a supervisor onboarding program: for improvement in staff development, customer and partner experience, and production targets. Onboarding programs also provide new supervisors with the tools to enable the organization to produce accurate timelines for employees’ development and productivity. An organizational supervisor onboarding program also helps improve employee experience, organizational performance, and it allows management to assign responsibilities to employees at the appropriate stage of their development. Standardizing my organization’s new supervisor onboarding experience across the organization will generate meaningful relationships with leaders, employees, customers, and partners.
My organization understands that for our newly licensed agents to be successful in their new role. They must have a leader that also received a robust onboarding experience. Therefore, my organization is committed to providing its employees with the necessary coaching and development to achieve top performance. Implementing a structured supervisor onboarding program will allow employees and leaders to develop excellent working relationships and performance through sustained employee development. My organization is committed to creating a supervisor onboarding program to manage its employees’ and leaders’ development strategy and be an employer where our employees feel supported by having the tools to manage their performance efficiently and effectively. Additionally, having a coaching certification will help me provide expertise in developing coaching and development for not only new supervisors but existing supervisors.
