Proposal: Name of Proposal
Introduction
What is the topic of your proposal and why is it important? What do you think you will find when performing your new experiment? State your hypothesis. Include any background information to help the reader understand the subject of your experiments. Site sources where you got your background information.
Previous Data
What was your data from the work you did so far, which leads you to your new hypothesis? Include any tables and/or graphs to show your work and how it led to your new idea. GRAPH the data given to you.
Methods
When you perform this new experiment, what will your methods be? How are you going to do this? (It can be anything since we are not actually doing this in class, so think as big as you’d like) Don’t worry about specific details like exact numbers and calculations; just qualitatively explain what the experiment plan and procedure would be.
Discussion
Why did you choose to do this? Why do you want to? Explain how your new experiment will relate to the work you did and why it is a logical next step in your process. Reiterate why this is important and how will it help us? (It could be helping the world or just helping us have a better understanding of how something works. In research, every small step toward an answer to a question is important.)
Conclusion
This is a summary of your proposal. Paraphrase the above sections, tying them altogether.
