PurposeFor this discussion, you will identify and describe a specific culture that shapes your social environment and apply terminology from the course materials to cultural items representing your culture. You will demonstrate your ability to apply what you have learned.

TaskIdentify and photograph three unique items that reflect your culture. Avoid items such as vehicles, computers, tablets, cell phones, or televisions.

Photograph all three items separately. Photos must be taken by you. Please do not use images from the Internet. Using photos that are not yours is plagiarism. 

Embed each of your three images into your discussion post by clicking the camera icon in the discussion box toolbar then following the prompts. Be sure to resize the picture so it is no more than 500 pixels wide. 

Summarize the cultural relevance of each item below it in approximately 100 words. 

Apply terminology from the course to explain the relevance of each item to the lesson on culture. Apply as many terms as you can.

Reply to a minimum of 2 classmates with additional information, terms, theoretical perspectives, follow-up questions, and authentic discussion interactions. Also, respond to others who have responded to you. Lackadaisical responses will not be accepted.

EvaluationYou will be assessed on:
Successfully answering the discussion prompt with originality and accuracy, and while following directions.
Accurately including and applying important terminology from the textbook and course content.
Citing and referencing all materials consulted using MLA, ASA, or APA.
Participation, Timeliness, and Quality of posts and replies.
Grammar, spelling, punctuation, word choice, and sentence structure of posts and replies.
