Risk Management and Aviation Safety

The title of the Video is we are Aviation Safety, posted by Federal Aviation Administration. The link to the video is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB7yr1sxO0Y

The video was posted in 2018 and explains how FAAs has been dedicated to ensuring that the airports across the country are free from any form of risk, be it passenger or cargo attributed to risk. The video advocates for people who are always on the lookout to ensure that not only the passengers are safe but also the country as a whole through safeguarding different parameters that can be deemed risky if they enter our country.

Some of the points that I found interesting in the Video are, first, the improvement of the technology, which is aimed at enhancing human performance. The technology ensures that aircrafts not only reduce noise, which can harm individuals but also make them efficient for both cargo and passenger travel. Second, the point that I found interesting is how the personnel is dedicated to ensuring that there is diversity throughout the workforce. In 2:56, the speaker assures that the company is on the verge of ensuring that they have the best-skilled personnel from all over the country, which shows that they are very optimistic about diversity.

The best practice learned as a manager is to ensure there is diversity in the workplace. Diversity ensures that people from different backgrounds, sexual orientations, ages, races, gender, and religious background work together as a team to accomplish the goals of the company (Yanaprasart, 2016). Another lesson is the collaboration between different people. FAA’s workforce is deployed in different areas across the plane and ensures that everything they are doing is for the benefit of their passengers. Some people work to ensure safety in the cabin, and others ensure safety in the cockpit while others on the general safety of the airplanes. Such collaboration is paramount for achieving goals and objectives (Jenkins, 2017). Collaboration eliminates the aspects of discrimination and attracts a talented workforce to the company.
