Name of the Agency and name of presenter.
Agency
Name of service agency/organization. Location. Primary focus.
Mission
Identify the purpose, vision, mission, and strategy of the agency (1-2 sentences).
Organizational design
Is the agency a nonprofit, for-profit, or public entity? Is the agency small, medium, or large?
Provide an organizational flow chart.
Why was the agency started?
What need did it intend to meet? The number and type of clients served (4-6 bullet points).
Community perceptions of the agency.
Programs
Programs and services provided (4-6 bullet points).
Length of service provision.
Population
Who does the agency intend to serve? Who is served?
Identify the types of clients served and the eligibility requirements.
Services
What agencies serve as referral sources to the agency? To whom does the agency refer clients? What organizations does the agency network with?
Discussion Questions
Identify 2-3 questions as these should engage students for an additional 10-15 minutes.
At least 2 questions to facilitate discussion with the class, highlighting an interesting issue or challenge of the agency or client population.
At least one additional question should highlight an ethical challenge regarding this client or agency. Ideas for discussion might relate to self-determination, informed consent, competence, conflicts of interest, confidentiality/privacy concerns, boundary norms/issues, and access to or termination of services.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of all aspects of MS Teams in order to facilitate discussion and encourage feedback.
Please remember that the discussion should be strength-based and diplomatic in its approach to ensure a healthy discussion that values the Importance of Human Relationships, Integrity, and the Dignity and Worth of a Person.
The Agency Presentation as a whole should be cohesive and logical in its progression and should be no more than 30 minutes in duration.
