Special Population

I feel that all special populations should be given equal attention in the society as they might all be suffering from conditions that require immediate attention. It is paramount for the community to understand and adhere to laws that are aimed at protecting these groups (Grimsrud et al., 2015). Nurses are delegated in protecting these populations through regular care and checkups, ensuring that they receive hope and counseling through healthcare systems. Every group requires similar attention but in a different perspective that is aimed at addressing the issues, they are facing. For example, it would not be fair for carriers of HIV/AIDS to be given the same kind of care to actors and actresses who are facing drug usage due to pressure and cyberbullying. Every group should be assigned a particular form of treatment that is aimed at addressing the issues they are facing and not all-inclusive care that provides similar attention to every group.

Different healthcare policies are aimed at protecting and treating members of any of the groups. It is important to note that a greater understanding of the mainspring of health effects of being a member of a particular population in the society may be one of the essential steps towards recommending an individual policy (Waisel, 2013). As such, it is the work of the healthcare providers and government agencies to come up with strategies that are aimed at helping all the groups of special populations and not addressing issues affecting some groups and leaving others (Waisel, 2013). For example, it is the work of government agencies to address the issue of cyberbullying that targets many actors and celebrities who end up abusing drugs and some even committing suicide. Every group deserves attention from society, government agencies, and healthcare providers if they have to live a long, healthy life away from stigmatization.
