Sustainable society vs social justice

Scientific studies indicate that the current utilization of energy, water, and food can probably not be sustained given the current human population dynamics. Although human innovation has been able to respond to limiting factors in the past, it is not known if innovations alone will address the current unsustainable utilization of resources. However, many of the proposed responses tend to affect the poorer populations through higher costs and decreased access.
