This is a forum discussion. I managed to answer all other questions in the forums, except this one:
In our previous discussion topic we were sharing experiences and thoughts about challenges of innovation and tools to analyse innovation projects.
Some of you mentioned the SWOT, a tool widely used, sometimes underestimated about its efficiency, specially due to its misuse. I wanted to add that the SWOT analysis many times lacks the analysis part: Use the strengths to overcome the weaknesses. Capitalise on opportunities to neutralise the threats.
But any tool, even simple, combined with a dedicated observation, a tool that I have highlighted in previous sessions and discussions has a power not only within the company but also to identify external factors including the future. Or trends as a more complex set of information that provokes external tensions and forces evolution.
How do you think trends and other future forecasting information can help us to identify different areas where we can innovate? How can we innovate in something different than products or services?
Thank you all for sharing!
