Week 9 scenario – Ethics – Project Management v Fraud
Prof. Blagoev
Scenario:
You are the PM for one of the main bidders on a medical facility project and you have put together a strong bid.
However, you overhear a conversation in the office today between a project coordinator and site super, talking about drywall trades disposing of their lunch waste in the wall cavities on a previous residential project before boarding them up. Your site super tells you they reported the drywall subcontractor to their company and their work was redone.
Needless to say, even the perception of risks of infection and contamination on the upcoming medical facility project would be a dealbreaker.
Instructions:
Review slides 16 and 17. You can find and refer to additional sources if you are interested.
What two most effective preventative measures will you take in your subcontractor selection process to ensure you select a sub for the medical project who will not create infection control issues? How will they work? Do not just use any two measures from the slides but be strategic and realistic in your choice. (4 sentences minimum)
