Community Group PresentationThe focus of this project will strengthen action planning, collaboration, and neighborhood planning skills.  You should select a neighborhood that has different economic or demographic characteristics from your own.    You should:
1.            Give your organization a name.
2.            Fully describe the community (key physical, political, economic, etc. characteristics, information systems, history, existing leadership, etc.).
3.            Clearly identify probable problems (i.e. unmet needs) in the community.
4.            Clearly identify probable assets, resources, or capacities in the community.
5.            Clearly identify the issues around which you could organize, especially mobilizing issues.
6.            Clearly describe what you would do in the first six months of organizing.
7.            Clearly describe the key concerns this organization will have to address in order to maintain itself internally.
8.            Fully explain why you chose the organizing approach that you used.
9.            Clearly explain how your organization will evaluate the success or failure in reaching goals.
A final paper or PowerPoint presentation should be submitted by July 25th.
The draft outline is due on June 30th.
Hint: Make sure that you show that you are developing an organization made up of members of the people affected by the condition (e.g., neighborhood residents).  It is theirs and they are to own it.  You are to help develop the organization for members of the community.
