point in the course, we have covered the majority of the substantive
topics.  You have read and learned a lot. I have heard from several of you
through email indicating how interesting and disturbing this course has been
for you.  The subject seems unreal, and it’s quite amazing that human
trafficking happens and to such an incredibly huge extent.  
Review all
of the information posted in the Learning Guide.  After you watch the
final resource, the Ted Talk, write an Essay reflecting on what you have
learned throughout the course.  I want to know your personal thoughts
about what you’ve learned as you’ve gone through the past 4 weeks.  The
idea is for you to consider your new knowledge, think critically about how it
might help you in your work, and how it has changed the way you look at issues
of human trafficking.   You have leeway in how you want to present
the information and what you want to address.  I want you to enjoy taking
some time to explore your thoughts on human trafficking.  To help give you
some guidance, you may want to discuss some of the following: 
What topics
interest you the most out of all of the ones you’ve studied, and are there any
you might like to explore further for personal interest or to assist you in
your professional life? 
What
surprised you the most while learning about human trafficking?  
What
misconceptions about human trafficking did you have prior to starting this
course? 
How might
you plan to use the knowledge you’ve learned in your own lives and work in the
future?
Some of you
may have experienced working with individuals who are victims of human trafficking
and did not know it until you learned more in this course.  Some of you
may have a great interest in this topic and want to work with victims of human
trafficking or on prevention and awareness efforts.  Again, you have a lot
of leeway with this assignment.  The stylistic / format requirements are
the following: 
You need a
Title page in APA 7 format.
The essay
must be 3-4 pages long (not including the Title page and Reference page).
You need an
Introduction and a Conclusion.
Include
citations throughout the essay where you need them, and include your sources on
a separate reference page at the end.  Everything should be in APA 7
format.
