Jazz Listening and Identification

There are 2 parts to this assignment. Your answers will go in the assignment template attached called “Unit 7 Assignment: Jazz Listening and Identification Template.” After downloading the template, save it onto your computer. When you open the template, you will need to choose the option “fill and sign,” which will appear on the right hand side in the tools pane in order to be able to write on the document (If the tools pane is not visible, please go to View, which is located on the top of the page in the file menu, and choose “show/ hide” and select “tools pane”). Once saved, you can attach and submit your assignment.Instructions – Part 1: Listen to each of the recordings and identify the genre or style of Jazz that is best represented by the video clips below.  Once you have decided the style provide one or two reasons why you made the choice that you did based on this week’s reading and resources. Instructions – Part 2: Name a prominent jazz musician from 5 of any of the 6 jazz styles above displayed below.  Be sure to include the name of the musician and the style of jazz.
